For Alison and Simon, their Swan 38 Roxi has been far more than a boat since 1999. She has been their companion, their home, and their passport to adventure, carrying them across seas, through remote islands, and into some of the most extraordinary corners of the world.
Their first big voyage took them from the UK to Gran Canaria, then across the Atlantic with the ARC rally to St Lucia. The Caribbean opened a season of exploration, and by 2003, Roxi had carried them into the Mediterranean, where Corsica and Sardinia captured their hearts.
In 2006, the Atlantic called again. From the Caribbean, they sailed to Venezuela, Bonaire, and the San Blas islands โ โpure magic,โ they recall. Passing through the Panama Canal and into the Dariรฉn rainforest, they anchored amid untouched nature, marveling at its sights and sounds.
The Pacific then unfolded before them. They crossed the equator, explored the Galรกpagos, and after weeks at sea, spotted the peaks of Fatu Hiva in the Marquesas. โThe sight of green mountains rising from endless blue was breathtaking,โ they remember. Bora Bora, the Tuamotus, Suwarrow, Niue, Tonga, and New Zealand followed โ each destination revealing the planetโs beauty in ways only Roxi could take them.
Through every passage, Roxi has been their constant: robust, reliable, and endlessly exhilarating to sail.
